The GT1 is the latest in a long line of heads that deliver crushing levels of volume and tone from a quartet of EL34 valves. The GT1 can trace its lineage right back to the earliest Matamps. There’s 40 years of evolution inside the chassis resulting in an amp capable of producing all the vintage Matamp tones loved by many with reliability and consistent performance. But it doesn’t stop there; the process of development has broadened the pallet of tones available through to sounds that keep attracting new players to the marque.

A combination of the classic GTL and GTO in one box with retro single panel front, this is a superb allrounder. Vintage, Clean, Rock, Stoner, Doom, all the legendary MATAMP tones in one single amp !

Straightforward layout gives you access to a range of great tones easily. The master volume is particularly smooth at low volumes making the GT1 a great all rounder.

The master volume on/off switch turns the amp from a non-master GTO to a master volume GTL (but with an additional stage of gain for more modern styles).

The GT1 is a gloriously simple amp to use. The amp features two modes of operation based on the topology of its forefathers. The master volume can be switched out and in doing so one of the preamp triodes is removed from circuit. The low gain non-master GTO style circuit delivers tones from the early days of the GT series, including the classic Matamp clean. By switching in the master volume you can get more modern sounding GTL tones and beyond. The range of overdrive can take you from the extremes of stoner to classic rock and anywhere in between.
